Salmon lice

Sea lice are a natural parasite, but salmon farming has led to unnaturally high levels in some fjords. This makes sea lice one of the biggest threats to wild salmon. Pre-smolts can even get lice, leading to wounds, infections and reduced growth – and in the worst case, be fatal.
