About us
Visitor Center Wild Salmon Tana Joddu is part of the Visitor Center family of the Norwegian Environment Agency.
We provide knowledge about the Tanalaksen, which is a wild Atlantic salmon, sea trout and sea char. In addition, we are a dissemination arena for the nature, wildlife, fauna and water systems around us.
We are located at Tanabru and are open all year round. We have a small temporary indoor exhibition, and a small outdoor exhibition in the summer months.
With us you can learn more about the life cycle of salmon, as well as traditional Sami fishing methods that have been used in the Tana River basin throughout history: fence fishing, driftnet fishing, seine fishing and hook-and-line fishing.
We offer nature guidance to schools and kindergartens, lectures on nature and research, and facilitate the dissemination of knowledge about salmon and the nature around us.
