Workshop on climate change in the Deatnu/Tana River Basin

PROGRAM

 

10.30 Meeting at the humpback salmon trap . Observation of the trap together with the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, NIBIO, international research group, knowledge carriers and local experts. 

12:00 Lunch at Kievra Cafe

13 00 Workshop at the Wild Salmon Center. The language is English and there will be translation to and from Norwegian.

Introduction of participants/the project/workshop.

Paul Eric Aspholm, NIBIO talks about data on climate change in the region.

      How does climate change affect the river system?  

         Water experts from Cranfield University (England), Heather Smith and Andrea Momblanch, talk about climate risk in watercourses in general.

        Local participants are invited to identify how climate change is affecting waterways, culture and society in the lower reaches of the Deatnu/Tana River Basin.

If you have any old or new photos, maps or anything else that illustrates changes in and around the river, how this affects you and yours, or what value the river and fishing have for you, please feel free to bring this to the workshop.
